The Bush Camp Chiang Mai is located on the Ping river with stunning views overlooking lush vegetation and misty mountains, typical of Northern Thailand.
Located approximately 2 hours from Chiang Mai airport, we will ensure a smooth transfer to our camp, included in the tour package and operated by us. Our mini-van fleet features comfortable, air-conditioned vehicles with friendly drivers looking after you during your drive.
The Bush Camp consists of 10 tailormade, luxury tents, resembling African safari accommodation – all built by highly skilled local artisans prioritizing sustainability and supporting the local community.
Tucked away from the hustle and bustle of downtown Chiang Mai, you will be able to experience local life close to nature without missing out on the luxuries of an excellent equipped glamping tent with hot and cold shower, electricity, Wi-Fi and a magnificent view from your own spacious balcony.
During the day, you will have the unique opportunity to join our sustainable activities including our popular chain free, hands-off elephant experience taking place at the on-site Elephant Park.
The area around our Camp is natural, unique and prime habitat for myriad birds including green peafowl. This combined with the view of Chedi’s, temples and stunning mountain scenery will take you back to the times of ancient Chiang Mai.

To relax from all your adventures during the daytime, we invite you to hop into our infinity pool in the afternoon and enjoy a refreshing drink. From the pool you can admire the views over the magnificent Ping river and the Chedi’s nestled in the lush green mountains, glistening in the sunset.
At nighttime, you can join a delicious dinner, offering local and western cuisine in our open-air restaurant adjacent to the pool.
All meals, accommodation, activities, and transport are included in our unique package.

This place is amazing. the staff, mahouts and the families that live and work on-site. It’s called a bush camp but really the tent has all the luxuries of a hotel room I have seen elephants in Zoos before but never in this sort of environment they looked incredibly healthy and well cared for. We were involved in feeding the elephants and were able to get up close and personal with them. We were also shown how the mahouts and their families lived and were able to take part in the everyday activities they would do The food was amazing and so much of it, not a Western dish in sight thankfully. Our tent had the most fantastic views of the river and its delta and would definitely recommend it.

This experience has been fantastic from the beginning to the end. The accommodation is of a high standard and couldn’t ask for more. The food was excellent with a lot of flavour. It’s a truly magical place if you are looking for the best well-kept Elephants in Thailand.I have to give a big thank you to Chai, Ying, Samphan, Kookkai, and obviously to the Mahouts for taking care of us and for giving us so much information about it all. So educational. Keep up the good work and effort you put into these lovely humble animals

Our visit to The Bush Camp was awesome, facilities are very well set up, staff very friendly and knowledgeable and forthcoming with interesting facts & information. Our guide even said he would like to set up bird watching from by the pool, we think this would be a great idea. Very nice tent, having cold drinking water available at many locations around the the camp activities was so good as it was very hot when we were there. We felt like VIP guests as we were the only ones there the first day, and the food, that’s amazing, we love Thai food so we were really happy. Village activities were very informative and interesting. The beautiful elephants here have a great life and seeing these amazing animals was wonderful. We will tell others that this place is well worth visiting.

So many highlights at Bush Camp. From our pick up to the welcome to the food to the views and camp set up let alone our incredible tent and our wonderful guide, Chai, this place is the epitome of organised. Every one of the staff smile and cannot do enough for you. Chai was on hand whenever we needed him and he explained everything so well. The food was incredible. The pool was divine. The timings of activities were perfect and meeting the Karen tribe in the camp and understanding their ways and the beautiful relationship between mahout and elephant was magical.
Bush Camp, you’ve got this absolutely spot on! I can’t recommend it highly enough and as much as we’d love to come back if we can encourage others to consider a kind, considerate, environmentally, gentle way to spend time with elephants and enjoy some incredible hospitality, I hope this review does just that!
