The Bush Camp Chiang Mai provides a luxury experience in the heart of Thailand’s northern jungle, offering guests a unique opportunity to connect with elephants in a respectful, natural setting and learn about local culture. Our core values include sustainability, elephant conservation, and strong community partnerships.

Our camp is powered by solar energy and built with eco-friendly materials to minimize our environmental impact, while waste reduction efforts are key to our operations. We support nearby elephant hospitals by donating essential medicine and supplements, directly helping to care for these majestic animals.

Beyond conservation, we work closely with local communities, funding educational projects and supplying needed resources to local schools. This allows us to support cultural preservation and open learning opportunities for the next generation.

Each stay at The Bush Camp Chiang Mai contributes not only to the protection of the environment and wildlife but also to uplift the communities that make this region so unique and important.

Children’s Project

Our company objective at The Bush Camp has always been to work closely with the local community, and over the years, we have focused our efforts on improving children’s education in rural areas.

As a tourism business, we aim to use revenue from nature tours and donations from our guests and partners to make a difference in the lives of underprivileged children.

If you plan to visit The Bush Camp, be sure to check out our “pack with a purpose” list—participating couldn’t be easier!

Elephant Conservation Project

Our elephant conservation efforts focus on improving the quality of life for domestic and wild elephants in Thailand. We donate essential medicine and supplements to nearby elephant hospitals.

We employ a full-time team of veterinarians who care for the elephants daily, ensuring their health and well-being.

Additionally, we collaborate with the government to follow the highest standards of elephant care and participate in international seminars to stay updated on the latest knowledge and practices for improving elephant welfare in our camp and surrounding areas.

Mae Ping National Park Donation

On December 18, The Bush Camp conducted a conservation outreach activity at Mae Ping National Park in Li District, Lamphun Province.

The initiative was led by Mr. Tanaphum Boonmakaew, the camp’s resident veterinarian, together with the management team, with the objective of supporting wildlife conservation and environmental education.

Wildlife Monitoring Project

Camera trapping is an excellent way to monitor and learn about wildlife in its natural environment and, most importantly, without disturbing it. Hence, camera traps are being used in multiple conservation projects worldwide.

It’s still rather early days with our Wildlife Monitoring Project here at The Bush Camp, but even during the first experiments, we were able to capture something amazing. Have a look at the footage below of the magnificent and endangered Green Peafowl.

Sustainability

Our commitment to preserving the environment is a fundamental principle shared by our team and our visitors. We work hard to reduce our impact on the planet by using eco-friendly practices and sustainable materials.

Our goal is to inspire our guests to be more mindful of the environment and encourage other organizations to do the same.

By leading by example, we hope to create a positive change and help protect the world around us.
