Supporting Elephant Healthcare with Chiang Mai University

At Elephant Hills and The Bush Camp Chiang Mai, caring for elephants goes far beyond the animals living at our camps. As part of our Elephant Conservation Project, we are committed to supporting elephant welfare across Thailand by working with veterinary professionals, elephant hospitals, and conservation organisations dedicated to protecting these remarkable animals.
One of the ways we do this is by supporting elephant healthcare and veterinary education.
On 3 August 2026, representatives from The Bush Camp Chiang Mai, led by our resident veterinarian together with members of the management team and staff, presented a THB 50,000 contribution to the Elephant Hospital, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Chiang Mai University, to help purchase essential medical equipment.

The donation was presented at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, where our team was warmly welcomed by the university’s management and staff.
Chiang Mai University’s Elephant Hospital plays a vital role in providing specialist veterinary care for sick and injured elephants while also serving as an important training centre for the next generation of wildlife and veterinary professionals. By supporting the hospital, we are helping veterinary students gain the knowledge, practical experience, and resources needed to care for elephants throughout their careers, strengthening elephant healthcare for the future.
Supporting veterinary institutions like Chiang Mai University is an important part of our wider Elephant Conservation Project. Alongside caring for the elephants at our camps to the highest welfare standards, we also support elephant hospitals and veterinary initiatives around Thailand that improve the lives of elephants beyond our own facilities.

We believe that protecting elephants is a shared responsibility. By working together with experienced veterinarians, researchers, and conservation organisations, we can help ensure that elephants receive the highest standard of medical care whenever they need it.
We sincerely thank the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Chiang Mai University, for their warm welcome and for their continued dedication to elephant healthcare and veterinary education.
